Molokai
Our first visit to Molokai...
We had a little difficulty finding the house. Drive east until you reach Waialua. There are no signs that you are in the town of Waialua. Look for the falling coconut sign at the back of the house and fish tails nailed to the tree...Molokai kine directions. Thanks Scott!
Halawa Valley
We drove along the coast to Halawa Valley. The road is very windy starting around the 15-mile marker and becomes extremely narrow for the last few miles. Close to the end it becomes a dirt road and finally ends at Halawa Beach park.
Kalaupapa Trail
We accessed the peninsula via a trail from "top side" Molokai, which descended 1,700 feet of the most spectacular scenery in the world. We have to thank Lester for the most amazing experience as we traversed the 2.9 mile trail, with 26 switchbacks, and we were enamoured by every view from the top side down.
